#InvestigateKingsmil: Kenyans calls for investigations into Kenafric’s abnormal bread

There has been rise in Cancer cases in Kenya and many are wary of the effects of aflatoxins in flour.

Monday afternoon, some Kenyans took to Twitter to call on the Kenya Bureau of Standards to investigate Kenafric’s Kingsmil bread.

Last week, a Twitter user shared how Kenafric Industry Ltd Kingsmil bread was being sold for cheap yet it was bigger compared with the other brands namely Supa Loaf and DPL Festive.

Kenyan authorities have in recent times been arresting flour firms with maize and wheat that contain aflatoxins. Aflatoxin is carcinogenic and occurs when grain has been stored for longer periods of time in dump conditions.

Maize and wheat are Kenyan staple and this are adversely affected by bad conditions in factory storage.

Where did Kenafric get wheat flour to make bigger breads sold for cheap? Did they take in aflatoxin infested flour?

Kenyans tackle the issue:
