An unidentified man on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 jumped in front of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade during his visit in Lucky Summer, Nairobi County that has raised concerned about his safety.

The middle-aged man was among many Kenyans who had lined up at Gathecia to witness the president made his way from Neema abattoir in Lucy Summer on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

The man suddenly sprang onto the middle of the road while prompting President Uhuru’s car to stop.

However, the president’s security detail responded swiftly to handle the situation and pushed the man off the road before the head of state proceeded with his journey.

The Head of State had earlier on the day officially opened the KSh 300 million slaughterhouse which he said would create employment as well as provide a market for farmers.

“We cannot have a situation where someone has reared his livestock and when time comes to sell them they are offered peanuts, and because someone has trekked for long he just gives in to any price,” Uhuru said.

This comes after a similar incidence had happened after barely a week ago after the Uhuru’s security detail intercepted a another person walking towards the head of state as he was addressing residents in Lamu County.

While giving his speech during the official opening
of Lamu Port, the man moved close enough to the dais to startle the president.

In the video that was shared on the social media, a
surprised Uhuru, who had moved a step to the side when the man appeared,
momentarily stopped his speech while his bodyguards swang into action and got
hold of the man.

The President had to apologise to his audience before proceeding on with his speech.

“I am sorry, kila mtu na mambo yake (everyone has their own situations),” Uhuru said.
