Is Raila in a ditch and Ruto growing larger Bs…..

The deputy president has declared war on the opposition chief, Raila Odinga. The former premiers party ODM where he is the leader is going into a by election in November after Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Hon. Ken Okoth. Death of Ken Okoth found the orange party on a flat foot. They were propagating amendment of the law through a referendum to expand the executive.

Now he has to focus on retaining the Kibra seat because he has lost two previous mini polls even in his home ground. While pushing for referendum to expand the executive, he is also struggling to handle another referendum move gaining momentum, Punguza Mizigo by Dr. Ekuro Aukot of Third way Alliance. ODM nominations are always marred by irregularities and violence.

Before Raila’s party settles on a candidate, they have already been accused of extorting aspirants through unbelievable charges totaling to Kshs. 270,000. Ruto has orchestrated shocking moves sponsoring former soccer star McDonald Mariga to challenge ODM on a Jubilee Party ticket. Barely 24 hours after JP settled on Mariga, Ruto is making an impro-to visit in Moi Girls in Kibra, a clever way to popularize the JP candidate with a promise to visit on Sunday after ODM nominations that are expected to be shambolic.

Having the guts to campaign in Odinga’s tuff and pull crowds is not a simple task. Promising to come a day after challenging nominations is stumping authority and daring to over the town in the face of the mayor. Having called Mr. Odinga a stingy fellow, the wealthy politician also finds this as an opportune time to fund the reconstruction of the dormitories that were razed by fire in 2017.

Also playing to DP’s advantage is his home county assembly, Uasin Gishu being the first assembly to approve the Punguza Mzigo Initiative. They praised it as a progressive bill that will further take resources to the grass root levels. They urged Predent Uhuru Kenyatta and former PM Raila Odinga to consider the bill.
