A feeling of distress has rocked the Kenyan real estate industry over fears that the disgraced Andrew Kamau of Banda Homes is making secret inroads into the lucrative business under a different entity.
Developing reports suggest that Mr Kamau has hidden interests in Willstone Homes, a budding property development firm based in Parklands, Nairobi.
This is evidenced by the recent appointment of Fabian Nzivo, formerly an employee of Banda Homes, as the company’s new CEO.
Sources say that Mr Nzivo, who assumed his role at the start of November 2022, has not been allowed to interact with customers for the fear of backlash due to his dark past and tainted image when he worked under Andrew Kamau.
Ever since he took over, some stalled projects have gone past their handover dates, with clients now starting to get jittery.
Most have already paid their amounts in full.
Additionally, Mr Kamau’s influence on the company’s operations and hiring staff has been quite evident, which is reminiscent of his days at Banda Homes.
That is not all.
Insiders at the firm also allege that construction workers have gone over 3 weeks without pay.
The angry workers have threatened to down their tools if the situation is not quickly resolved.
