Two policemen based in Juja police post are on the spot after it was established that they recorded fake P3 forms (A Kenya Police Medical Report Form) accusing a woman of assaulting them to save face after they beat her mercilessly leading to a miscarriage
The woman identified as Wangari was approached by the policemen while she was cleaning up her business premise at Kenyatta road and asked for “kitu kidogo” (Bribe). Due to the tough economic times, Wangari pleaded with the policemen since she had none.
It is then that they started raining kicks on her, after a rough beating, the police dragged the pregnant woman and placed her in the cells while she bled out. They did not even write her up for booking on the Occurrence Book(OB), While in the cell she suffered a miscarriage
Wangari is then said to have obtained a lawyer and declined for out of court settlement. As a last result, and in fear for the loss of their jobs, the said policemen panicked and allegedly forged the medical Report Forms claiming that the woman assaulted them.
Police brutality in Kenya has become a norm, nowadays, the dailies are published with the blood of innocent Kenyans after their men in blue who took an oath to protect them turn against them. It is no longer safe for anyone and unless something is done about the rogue officers who get caught in the act, nothing will change.
