Justice Daniel Kiio Musinga has been elected President of the Court of Appeal to replace Justice William Ouko.

The appointment was on Monday communicated by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer Beatrice Saki Muli to the Chief Justice.

Justice Musinga was admitted to the bar in 1988, appointed High Court judge in 2003 and has served in Nakuru and Kisii.

He now steps into the shoes of Justice Ouko who was recently appointed to the Supreme Court.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on May 14 appointed Justice Ouko as Supreme Court Judge following his nomination by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to replace retired judge Jackton Ojwang.

His deputy, Lady Justice Wanjiru Karanja, then took over as the interim President of the Court of Appeal.
