K24’s Daniel Chemjor’s body retrieved from Cheploch gorge

The body of K24 journalist Daniel Chemjor has been retrieved from the Cheploch Gorge where the car he was travelling in plunged.

Recovery efforts were undertaken by a multi-agency team in the area.

The car was reduced into a mangled wreckage with its windscreen and windows shattered.

Chemjor’s vehicle is said to have veered off the road on Wednesday night, hitting a guard rail before plunging into the gorge.

Reports indicate that Chemjor was on his way to Kabarnet from Eldoret to see his newborn baby when the grisly accident occurred.

Before his demise, Chemjor worked as the head of news directors at Media Max-owned K24 Television.

There was an outpouring of grief on social media following the news that he had died on Wednesday night.

Among those who mourned his passing are his colleagues in the journalism industry who hailed him as a great talent.
