Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament (MP) Kabando Wa Kabando has dropped a major hint on his immediate future plans ahead of the highly anticipated August general election.
Speaking through social media on Friday, the long-serving legislator who recently declared interest in the Nyeri Senatorial seat has expressed his frustrations in picking a political side between the two current leading presidential aspirants.
According to Kabando, the “propaganda, dishonesty and lies” perpetuated in both Raila Odinga’s and William Ruto’s camps have made it extremely difficult for him to distinguish between the two opposing sides.
In a rather cryptic end to his post, the Mt Kenya bigwig who is yet to announce a political vehicle for the upcoming polls disclosed that the listed factors have left him at crossroads since his preferred option for the presidency is “taken and owned”.
“The one I’ve really rooted and wished is taken and owned, what next?” he asked his followers.
Moments after he shared the post, a section of his followers immediately interpreted his remarks as a contradiction of his earlier views regarding the 2022 presidential race.
Speaking in October 2021, the MP had said that a Raila Odinga presidency was increasingly becoming a reality, especially within the mountain region.
But he also acknowledged that Ruto’s hustler narrative resonates well on the ground with the common voter.
