Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned ODM to forget about Msambweni by-elections being a contest between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga as he vowed to shock the duo.

Kalonzo spoke when he unveiled Wiper candidate  Mohamud Abdulrakman at the Wiper House where he promised to clinch the seat that fell vacant after the death of ODM’s Hon. Suleiman Dori.

“We don’t doubt his [Raila] popularity in Msambweni. We have no doubt that we have the right candidate,” he said, adding that “we must tell these framers, we have a serious candidate and we will defeat both of them. They are in for a shock.”

The former Vice President also unveiled candidates for Wundanyi Mbale Ward in Taita Taveta county and Kahawa Wendani ward in Kiambu county when he criticized the Public Order Act.

He said order restricting assemblies will fall when taken to court since the law enforcement are using it to settle political scores for those in authority. He noted that Kenyans are not being treated equally.

Kalonzo who has repeatedly reminded Raila that Msambweni is not an ODM stronghold begged Jubilee to back his candidate to win the seat from ODM.

“We are in competition with ODM and because our colleagues have no one, I suggest to them to assist us,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo who has been pitching camp Taita Taveta and Kwale Counties in part of Wiper’s fantasy to conquer the coast region downplayed an incident where Dp allies had their meeting stopped at Ukunda Showgrounds.

The meeting led by former Kalonzo man turned Ruto man, Johnstone Muthama was cancelled a day after the DP was forced to cancel a fundraiser in Nyamira County on Thursday.

The Kwale meeting was meant to drum up support for independent candidate Feisal Bader, who is gunning for the Msambweni parliamentary seat in the by-election scheduled for December 15.

The meeting was cancelled after word went round that the DP had plotted to woo all other aspirants to withdraw their candidature and support Mr Bader, a nephew to the late Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori. DP Ruto is a clever politician who can succeed with such a ploy and beat ODM.
