Kambua exposes COVID-19 scammer

Celebrated gospel singer Kambua has exposed an email scammer disguising World Health Organization (WHO), in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Through her twitter handle, the singer facetiously post that she has been chosen by WHO to help Africa deal with Coronavirus pandemic.

“ION I have been selected to help save Africa from Corona…” read her tweet in part.

The singer uncovers the scammer by sharing screen shots of the mail she was send and M-PESA transaction she made to uncover him.

The WHO is holding a conference in South Africa on 18th of April 2020 to dialogue on the way forward for African countries before the virus becomes uncontrollable. You are among the 10 influential people in Kenya chosen to attend the Conference,” read the scam mail.

Kambua is told to deposit a sum of $300, which is equivalent to Kshs.30,000 to a WHO Kenyan ambassador.

Scammers and hackers are on the rise since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

Recently, reports emerged across the world that some government-sponsored hackers have been sending malicious attachment to COVID-19 mails, targeting to attack other governments.
