Kenya Kwanza fires the ground with economically charged campaigns

Deputy President Dr. William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza team are leading a series of economic forum meetings to sell his bottom up economic agenda in various counties across Kenya.

Dr. Ruto who is flying the Kenya Kwanza presidential flag is using the forums to engage stakeholders and locals about the frustrations they are facing with current economy and how to fix the mess.

Kenya Kwanza principals have heightened their campaigns to sell their bottom up economic model. The team is currently in Taita Taveta where they are meeting locals who are suffering under current trickle down model.

Kenya Kwanza fires the ground with economically charged campaigns

“Trickle down has FAILED since it aids patronage & cronyism, breeding cartels & monopolies that benefit AFEW. The Bottom-Up economic framework is anchored on a DELIBERATE program that promotes INVESTMENTS & FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS that target the MILLIONS who are unemployed, hustler enterprises, farmer groups, fishermen etc. The conversation HAS changed!” Ruto wrote.

The DP explains bottom up as a people centered strategy which will target people at the grassroots to grow the economy. Other than breeding cartels and creating monopolies, trickle down model also left out millions of citizens from the economic mainstream, hence, denying them the opportunity to realize their full potential.

“…trickle down has failed to create enough jobs, expand opportunities and bring prosperity. Instead, it has fostered a hostile environment that has made it difficult for enterprise, trade, business, creativity, and initiative to thrive,” he added.

The DP is not entertaining Odinga’s perennial politics of personalities, positions, and power sharing is the man behind the paradigm shift to frank engagements with ordinary Kenyans on the economy, their aspirations, and their future.

Ruto who has held several rallies across counties including Nakuru, Nyeri, Embu, Western regions of Kenya and Kiambu is now set to hold a series of economic meetings at the Coast to market the bottom up economic model.

His tour of the coastal region comes exactly 10 days after ODM leader Raila Odinga also visited the region. The DP has made his first stop at Taita Taveta as his efforts to wrestle Odinga out of the region continue to bear fruits.

He has held numerous onslaught campaigns against Raila in the region, thought to be opposition stronghold but he enjoys huge support.

Ruto’s team boasts of two Coast governors, Salim Mvurya (Kwale) and Amason Kingi (Kilifi), and a host of law makers who ditched ODM party over dictatorship from its owners to work with UDA party.

He is set hold eleven rallies and five economic forums in all the other five counties including Kwale, Kilifi, Mombasa, Tana River, and Lamu to neutralize Odinga’s small influence.

On Wednesday, he will lead the Kenya Kwanza Alliance in chairing an economic forum in Mombasa before proceeding on three rallies in Kilifi County where he will be hosted by Governor Kingi and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.

His visit to Kilifi will be the first since Governor Kingi ditched Azimio La Umoja Coalition over mistrust to sign a pact with Kenya Kwanza.
