Kenya Pipeline’s leadership crisis and rogue management

The leadership crisis at the Kenya Pipeline Company is now getting out of hand with senior managers openly rebelling against the leadership style of the rogue MD Irungu Macharia who joined the company from Total Kenya.

Mr Irungu who has been working out ways to hire his mistress as the KPC’s  human resource manager also faced similar challenges in his former station of work where he was accused of adulteration of fuel.

Like he was taken to KPC to work for a clique of cartels, Mr Irungu is favouring Total in fuel supplies against other competitors owned by Kenyans of Somali origin including Shell.

Misappropriation of revenues is at it all time worst with over sh 300 million being stolen within the six months the new MD has been in office.

His entire clique of tender bandits are also milking the company dry with tenders being awarded under questionable circumstances to his allies.

Irungu has pulled his partner in crime, one Patrick who is now the chief broker in tender deals at the KPC.

Mr Patrick is working secretly to hide and send kickbacks to the MD to avoid tracing by relevant state agencies involved in the fight against corruption.

KB has also established that Petroleum  PS Andrew Kamau is Patrick’s godfather. Kamau works closely with Irungu to sideline and trash cabinet secretary John Munyes as ‘an outsider’.

Many top managers at the state owned agency are fearing arrest in matters they are being forced to sanction in the same design that KEMSA’s billions meant to combat Covid 19 were looted.

Kalenjins in seniors positions are the main targets after Irungu contracted ‘Covid 19’ to avoid office after his plans were busted including a plot to recruit his girlfriend in human resource department.
