Kenya Surpasses 500 positive Covid-19 Cases, Hits record 45 cases in 24hrs

Kenya has now surpassed 500 positive coronavirus cases with a total of 535 on Tuesday, May 5th.

The country has also broken the record of the number of cases reported in a day with 45 more positive cases, the previous was 30 on Sunday.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Tuesday stated that 29 are from Nairobi, 11 are from Mombasa, and five from Wajir.

A total of 30 are males and 15 are females and one is a foreign national from Somalia.

This was after 1,077 tests were done. Kenya has nine new discharges bringing the total to 182.

“Today our cumulative figure of those who have tested positive for the Covid-19 stands at 535 people. This is because out of the 1077 samples tested some 45 people have turned positive. This, of course, is the highest number recorded in 24 hours,” said CS Kagwe.
