Addressing journalists outside his offices the governor said for two weeks the county officials will not be in their offices.

He said they seek to improve service delivery and CECs and chief officers will be moving across the county to access ongoing projects, launch new ones and do public participation to ensure the needs of the people are met.

“I want all my CECs and chief officers to be in the field working. I will unveil this programme on Monday. They will access the existing projects and infrastructure, conduct public participation and make themselves available to the people of Kilifi,” he said.

He said there was no need for the executives to be in offices looking for tenders yet there was a lot of work at the grassroots to be implemented.

To him, ‘Kaunti Mashinani’  will ensure that residents are involved and CECs and chief officers are actively involved in implementing the development agenda.

The governor also announced six more key appointments in his office to serve as directors in different offices.

The new appointees include vocal Kilifi youth Fikirini Kahindi commonly known as Fikirini Jacobs(Governor’s Delivery Unit) and Raphael Diwani(Administration).

Others are Effie Katana(Liaison office), Karisa Mwaringa( Enforcement ), Berita Choka(Chief of staff) and Rev Tom Dawa(principal officer in charge of monitoring and evaluation.)

“The above appointees bring a wealth of experience and expertise having worked in different levels of government and the private sector. I believe that with them on board, our service delivery will be enhanced,” he said

Mung’aro also announced that he had submitted five names to the county assembly for approval.

He said the members from different sectors will constitute a panel tasked to recruit the county secretary and the Head of the Public Service Board.

They include Tukero Ole Kina (chairperson), Humphrey Safari (Knut), Ningala Kalachu (private sector), Lucky Mnyazi (advocate) and Leonard Jeffa.
