‘Killer’ singer from Tanzania nabbed while fleeing to Kenya

A Tanzanian gospel singer is facing charges of manslaughter after he was accused of stabbing his wife to death. An axe was also discovered at the scene of crime.

Moses Pallangyo appeared before Arusha Resident Magistrate Nestory Baro where he pleaded not guilty. The singer was arraigned over the brutal murder of his wife Mary Mushi,29, on December 25, 2019.

Regional Police Commander Jonathan Shanna, said police officers laid a trap and nabbed him on December 28 while  on his way to a ‘hide’ in Kenya.

He spoke after the arrest where Latieli Pallangyo – the father of the Free Pentecostal Church of the suspect, revealed that the incident occurred less than three months after the couple moved in together.

In another twist, Mushi’s kin insisted that dowry must be paid before the victim is laid to rest and demanded a fine of Sh 5 million.

A position shared by her eldest sister, Jennifer Pallangyo who added who agreed that Moses had not paid the dowry.

Mosses Pallangyo was remanded in Kisongo Central Prison  where he stay until his case is heard on January 28. The deceased left behind a daughter.
