Kilonzo Jnr tells Kindiki to persue his woes politically

Makueni Senator and Minority Whip Mutula Kilonzo has urged besieged Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki to seek a political solution to his woes that he said are political in nature.

“Trust has been lost and there is nothing we can do to save the person who has lost the trust of his party. The positions we occupy require utmost loyalty. There is no middle ground,” said Kilonzo.

Kilonzo Jnr spoke on Friday as he seconded the special motion for the removal of the Tharaka Nithi senator from the office of the deputy speaker.

“We did not recruit you. You were elected politically. You were recruited politically and you would have pursued it politically,” Kilonzo added.

The Makueni senator  who was elected on Wiper ticket reminded Kindiki of Jubilee Party that he ought to have accepted the overtures extended to him by ‘Kieleweke politicians’  to avert his ouster.

“ The overtures extended to you should have informed your decision. Since you did not take them, the vote of confidence will be taken here and you will see for youself,” Kilonzo said.

Kilonzo also reminded Kindiki that he held a position that needed a high threshold of confidence from the party in him.

Professor Kindki has however trashed the Jubilee Party wars as petty when the country should be united to fight and beat Covid-19 that has ravaged every sector including the economy.

“The accusations against me are baseless. I bow in shame and am ashamed that we are discussing party politics at a time when our country need the solidarity of every Kenyan, even the weakest, and not pettiness” Kindiki said in a tweet.

Jubilee Party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta has been on a serious purge to kick out party members loyal to DP Dr. William Ruto.

The relationship between the president and his deputy have seriously deteriorated since the 2018 handshake between Uhuru and opposition chief Raila Odinga.

Kindiki is among other Jubilee politicuians who lost their party leadership in senate after being accused of being disloyal to the party leader.
