Kimunya replaces Duale as National Assembly Majority Leader

Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale has been relieved of his duties in the new House leadership changes.

President Uhuru Kenyatta replaced Duale with Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya in a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) on Monday morning.

In the new changes, Muturi Kigano will now chair the Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee while Kanini Kega will Chair Budget Committee.

Adan Keynan will now be the Coalition Secretary.

The meeting comes amid widening rift between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto.

Last week DP Ruto hosted a meeting with legislators who have been dewhipped from various house leaderships in both National Assembly and the Senate.

After a meeting, Ruto posted a new logo with ‘Jubilee Asili, Sote Pamoja’ which is different from Jubilee’s ‘Tuko Pamoja’.
