Police forces have been overpowered by protesters in Kisumu.
Police have been forced to withdraw their presence in different parts of Kisumu.
The protest started at around 11 AM where it started as a peaceful demonstration as citizens were seen matching from Kondele.
The peace broke when the protestors tried to access the State Lodge where there was a stand-off between the police officer and the citizens.
7 protesters were handcuffed and taken into custody as two policemen got injured.
Azimio La Umoja, Raila Odinga, is expected to make a speech in the evening.
