Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai is not a good man

The former policeman Nimrod Mbai (Pictured) who was elected to the National Assembly in 2017 has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

As a first time legislator from Kitui East Constituency, he is known as the man who threatened Kitui County Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu with rape for supporting Raila Odinga.

The Jubilee MP told Governor Ngilu that she can be raped in her office if she doesn’t drop her hard political stance against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election. He said those words in September 2017 before the electoral re-run.

Though he later apologised for it owing to pressure from the governor’s supporters and women lobby group, the MP was to be caught up in another scandal.

Hate speech

In January 2018, the Kitui East MP was pictured in a heated argument with Somali herders, while carrying arrows and bows. He was later quoted as saying that the ‘we all came to an agreement which was followed by an altimatum that all Somali herders living with Kitui County should leave within less than 10 days failure to which we will have “BUSINESS NOT AS USUAL” Kama Mbaya, ni mbaya, nani mbaya’

Kenyans online reacted with outrage, calling for the arrest of the MP.

The MP has aligned himself with the Tangatanga faction that is going around with the Deputy President William Ruto giving out Wheelbarrows, mkokoteni and jembes to graduates on the guise of being on the same level with them, hustler.
