The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has opened applications for its September 2026 intake following the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announcement that applications for pre-service programmes are now available.
Prospective students seeking admission into KMTC pre-service courses have until August 11, 2026, to submit their applications through the KUCCPS Student Portal.
The opening of applications comes shortly after KMTC students completed their Final Qualifying and End-of-Semester examinations, clearing the way for a new group of trainees expected to join the institution later this year.
Applicants interested in in-service and upgrading programmes have been directed to submit their applications through the official KMTC Admissions Portal.
The announcement comes amid renewed efforts by KMTC and KUCCPS to ensure applicants access accurate admission information after the medical training institution recently warned the public about a fake admission poster circulating on social media.
The fraudulent notice falsely advertised admissions for various medical courses, including Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography, Public Health and other health-related programmes.
KMTC cautioned prospective students against relying on unofficial admission messages shared through social media platforms and urged applicants to confirm all information through the institution’s official communication channels.
According to the placement service, students applying for pre-service programmes must complete their applications through the KUCCPS Student Portal, while those seeking in-service or upgrading courses should use the KMTC Admissions Portal.
KMTC is among Kenya’s largest public medical training institutions, offering certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes aimed at preparing healthcare workers for deployment in hospitals, health centres and other medical facilities across the country.
The institution trains professionals in various fields, including Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography, Public Health, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Community Health.
The September 2026 intake is expected to admit students into KMTC campuses located across the country as the government continues efforts to expand and strengthen Kenya’s healthcare workforce.
