KNCCI Chariman Richard Ngatia meets with Bpifrance executives at the BIG 8 Business Forum in France.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) is set to partner with the French Public Investment Bank, also known as Bpifrance, to promote SMEs, start-ups and joint partnerships between Kenya and French Companies.

On Thursday, October 6, KNCCI Chariman Richard Ngatia held a meeting with Bpifrance Executive Director Pedro Novo at the ongoing BIG 8 Business Forum in France.

“Kenya operates a liberal Economy which is open to French Companies interested in the East Africa Community Market. In the coming weeks, we shall lay out the implementation framework for training programs and development financing,” Ngatia said after the meeting.

Adding:The environment is secure for private sector investment decisions, French Companies are most welcome to partner and establish joint ventures with Kenyan Companies to expand trade.”

Bpifrance is one of the active supporters of the new techniques of development financing (venture capital and funds of funds investment) and brings together techniques of direct equity investment with more traditional forms of loans and guarantee business.

The forum was hosted at Accor Arena in partnership with Bpifrance, the French Chamber of Commerce and Medef International.

The number of French Companies in Kenya has risen to over 100 and the market is ready to attract direct foreign investment in agribusiness, digital economy, manufacturing and logistics.
