Koome vows to serve to the best of her abilities if confirmed as CJ – KBC

Nominee for the Chief Justice position Justice Martha Koome has expressed her gratitude to the Judicial Service Commission for nominating her to the position.

“It will indeed be an hounor and a great privilege for me to serve this great Country as Chief Justice if confirmed to the office,” She said.

JSC has forwarded her name to President Uhuru Kenyatta who in line with article 166 of the Constitution will forward the nomination to the National Assembly for approval.

Koome said, “I appreciate this was after a thorough, rigorous and a very competitive process that saw some of the best legal minds come forward as capable candidates demonstrating their willingness to serve Kenyans.”

In a statement Koome thanked all the well wishers who encouraged an prayed for her thanking God and seeking prayers from her supporters as she goes through the confirmation process.

She assured Kenyans of her unwavering commitment to serve to them to the best of her abilities.
