Kuresoi aspirants fight to control UDA party – Weekly Citizen

[ad_1]

Youths and aspirants from Kuresoi South constituency have embarked on registration of United Democratic Alliance members in the region. Weekly Citizen has information that a majority of MCA aspirants and even those eyeing the parliamentary seat want to land UDA ticket, hence the current political wars among aspirants to outsmart each other. The youths distributed registration materials in Keringet, Amalo, Tinet and Kiptagich wards. Led by parliamentary aspirant Denis Mutai, they
expressed optimism that the party will continue to gain momentum on the grassroots and get nation-wide support ahead of 2022 general elections. He said popularising the party in the region comes at a time when various aspirants are laying the ground to vie for various positions of leadership. Mutai said UDA’s victory in Rurii ward, Nyandarua county and the People’s Empowerment Party’s win in the Juja parliamentary by-election has given them renewed energy and motivation. “We will continue enlightening our members and supporters about the party’s policies, constitution and its manifesto. The grassroots supporters must be well furnished with information concerning UDA party,” he said. Isaac Rono, a parliamentary aspirant in Kipkelion West
constituency, urged the party top brass to ensure fairness and justice in party affairs to avoid fallout in future. He said in various areas, politicians had hijacked the affairs of the party contrary to the will of the people especially in Rift Valley. He called for a level playing ground for all political leaders and aspirants who are rallying their support to the party and the hustler nation movement “We are aware of agents of disunity moving around deceiving people that they have the blessings
of the deputy president to control affairs of UDA even at grassroots level. They should be treated as the first enemies of our party. Political brokers should not hijack the daily running of the party,” he stressed. They said they are targeting the recruitment of 30,000 members in the constituency.
