KWS Light Aircraft Kills 2

Yester evening, a pilot and passenger were killed after a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) aircraft crashed in Nanyuki.

In a statement released on Thursday evening, KWS said the two-seater Husky aircraft with registration number 5Y-KWL crashed immediately after take-off from Nanyuki Civil Airport.

“The aircraft which is under the National Air Support Department had just completed a routine patrol at Solio Rhino Sanctuary and was en route to Meru National Park,” the statement reads.

At the time of publishing this article, the cause of the crash was yet to be established but investigations are underway.
