Renowned City lawyer Cliff Ombeta has officially joined politics being a member of the Deputy President William Ruto linked United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.
Taking to
Twitter yesterday, the controversial lawyer revealed that he is a confirmed
member of the Party thereby revealing his registration details in his message.
“I am a registered member
of United Democratic Alliance,” his message read in part.
This comes
amid constant speculations of something cooking between the second in command and
the seasoned lawyer, with none of them revealing more details.
Ombeta has been accompanying the DP and other leaders who have endorsed him for the top seat ahead of 2022 to a number of functions including the upcoming Bonchari mini polls.
Cliff in the Company of South Mugirango legislator Sylvanus Osoro, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, businessman Jhanda Zaheer and Don Bosco Gichana has been campaigning for the UDA candidate Teresa Bitutu Oyioka in Bonchari.
Last month reports had
emerged that the legal luminary was warming up to vie for the Bonchari seat
after being spotted with the DP at Weston Hotel.
He however refuted the
claims later with details later emerging that the lawyer was planning to vie
for an elective position in 2022.
Cliff joins a list of his Kisii kin who have endorsed the DP in his quest to ascend to power in 2022.
Others are former MP Omingo Magara, EALA MP Charles Nyachae, Bomachoge Chache MP Alfah Miruka among many more.
Ombeta is revered in the field of criminal law with many cases to his name including; DJ Evolve’s attempted murder case against Babu Owino, the Akasha brothers drugs case, Sharon Otieno murder case featuring Migori Governor Okoth Obado and, Jacque Maribe and Joe ‘Jowie’ Irungu
