Leopards in bitter fight with Etoile over new signings

A noisy fight has erupted between Kenyan club AFC Leopards, Zambia’s  Nkana FC and Tunisian top club Etoile Sportif Du Sahel over the transfers of striker Bienvenue Shaka and Duncan Otieno.

The two played joined AFC from Nkana and Sahel respectively but the two foreign clubs have declined to hand the players with their release letters to complete their move to AFC Leopards.

Nkana are claiming that Otieno is still their player while Tunisia’s Sahel is reluctant to let Shaka go claiming that his loan spell is still running with another club.

AFC Leopards’ chairman Dan Shikanda has dismissed the claims noting that Otieno’s contract has already expired but he is working on the Shaka issue, as they await for FIFA response.

“There are concerns over the signing of Duncan Otieno and Shaka but we have written to Nkana and Etoile.

We wait for an answer from the two clubs through FIFA to know whether we will have the players,” Shikanda said.

The player have both signed two-year contracts with the Leopards and are expected to feature regularly for the club managed by Coach Tomas Trucha.

The club hopes to iron the issues before the FKF Premier League new season kicks on Nov 20.
