The burial of Miriam Kighenda who drowned in the Indian Ocean with her daughter Amanda Mutheu while crossing the Likoni Channel is currently underway in Makueni County.
The two were retrieved from the Indian Ocean 13 days after their car slid off the ferry and plunged into the deep waters.
The recovery operations were led by the Kenya Navy and private divers.
On Friday, Sonko, through Sonko Rescue Team, offered to transport the bodies of the victims from Mombasa to Makueni for burial.
