Liverpool soak Leicester to open a thirteen point lead

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp says it is not yet party time for Liverpool despite tightening their grip on the EPL title chase with a dominant 4-0 thrashing of Leicester to open up a 13-point lead at the top of the table.

Liverpool has a game in hand over Leicester and seem destined to finally end a 30-year wait to win the EPL title.

“With all the things around us, the biggest quality of my boys is that we are not listening really but we are completely focused on what we have to do,” Klopp said.

Liverpool are Fresh from winning the Club World Cup for the first time in Qatar on Saturday but they showed no sign of fatigue from a congested December fixtures as they outclassed Leicester through out the match.

Alexander-Arnold was a constant threat raiding forward from right-back and shocked Kasper Schmeichel inside the first minute. Klopp was slightly scared when Sadio Manespooned Mohamed Salah’s dangerous cross wide.

Alexander-Arnold’s cross was powerfully headed down past Schmeichel. That was the opener for the league leaders at the half hour mark.

Scheimeichel had ensured Leicester’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday showed his best to keep the Foxes in the game when he saved one-on-one from Mane moments later.

But the two heavy defeats in five days have proven to be a reality check for Leicester’s title chase with their focus now on making sure that they hold off others chasers as Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United to secure a return to the EUFA Champions League.
