Police in Machakos have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife and son in Matungulu, Machakos County. Identified as Jared Ochichi, the 33 year old man was arrested on Friday night for taking the lives of his 26 year old wife Jackline Jared and son 11 year old son.
The accused who is a boda boda operator in Joska town was spotted by his neighbours carrying a black plastic bag. Few minutes later a human head to believed to be that of his son fell of the bag as he crossed the road.
Matungulu OCPD Kipkemoi Kirui said the suspect ran and locked himself up in a his room after neighbours noticed and called the police.
The neighbours were suspicious about the whereabouts of the victims who had not been seen the whole day when their door remained closed.
“The suspect returned in the evening and we suspect that he was in the process of transporting the bodies to bury them secretly,” said Mr Kirui.
When the police arrived at the scene of crime led by Kirui, they found the body of the lady lying naked on the bed with deep cut wounds on the face.
The son’s remains were found outside, hidden in a black plastic jerrican with the head chopped.
The police boss also confirmed that they recovered the murder weapons and the bodies have since been moved to Kangundo Level 4 hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
