The immediate EAC Cabinet Secretary and long serving career banker who failed in all field despite having held some prestigious positions and perceived ‘high academic qualifications’. His recent entrance to the Mandera County gubernatorial race is a game of survival after failing as technocrat. This is aimed to hide his 10 year failure as a CS in the jubilee administration.
In addition Adan has violated one of the cultural norms of the Somalia community of social and family fabric (Rehem); by using his close relative Senator Mumad and Feisal Abass and deserted them!
Understanding this history by Mandera electorate is crucial. The former CS was a burden to the community since he was posted to Kenya by Barclays as Kenya CEO for 10 years. Just after been in the country for 5 years and following 2002 general election, Hon. Billow Kerrow win Mandera central parliamentary seat, Adan waged a total war against the newly elected legislator just because B.K happened to be fighting for the right of the Somalia and Muslim community in the country. All of us know what happened in Mandera central- the rest was history!
After failing to capture the KRA job and been desperate, he hide under the negotiated democracy, where the community proposed him to be CS (Proposed by than Garre Council of Elders team and prominent businessman- Abdirahaman Abass- his in-law and father to Feisal Abass). Today he is finishing Faisal after proposing him first to contest the seat and short-changed him. Other notable failure of Adan include failure to propel the to drive Kenya’s industrialization agenda as a cabinet secretary for trade and industry and hit the headline been the first time a cabinet mini-reshuffle was done for a single CS, where he was demoted to the less prestigious East Africa Community and Regional Development in July 2018; another failure.
Thirdly comes the worst failure while in the Ministry of EAC he applied to be EAC Chief Executive Officer (Clear indication that this guy is looking for job post-2022 elections). He was beaten by his junior Dr Mathuki, who was Executive Director of the East African Business Council. *Social and Family Fabric norms Violation* – Socially Adan violated the community decision, where the section he hails from (Tuuf) officially handed over the gubernatorial seat to their Qoranyowa brethren a couple of weeks ago at Elwak after holding the position for 10 years. As usual intrinsic negative behavioral worldview, Adan Jari declared to run for the seat against his own community decision; clear indication of elite incentive theory that failed him in subsequent job application in the region, rejecting the communities’ social norms and harmony. Bravo to current governor H.E. Cpt. Ali Roba and other Tuuf leaders of Garre section (Hon. Kullow Maalim, Hon. Kullow Ali Sheikh and other seating MCAs) – Thanks again for the bold step of cohesiveness and consideration approach.
Family fabric violation – No one ever thought Adan Jari can betray and dump during his most hour of need his cousin and long term trusted friend Hon. Senator Mumad! Adan completely did what a family members cannot do.
He is the one who forced the Senator to rescind his earlier noble decision of accepting and supporting the Darawa candidate Feisal Abass who happened to be Adan in-law! If Martin Luther King, Jr. could speak today he will call this scenario ‘One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. To respected uncle Mumad.
The worst case is betrayal of his in-law Feisal whose father was a great supporter of social- economic growth to Adan Mohamed.
*Elite Incentives phenomena*– His conspiracy approach that he is currently employing to blindfold Mandera residence will intolerably fail. Doing Power point presentation and engaging CBD elites as a mode of psychological inducement has no place in the current Mandera politics.
To the former CS prepare for tough and rough road of politics full of dirty undercuts and come out from the boardroom meetings.
