Mixed reactions was sparked online after COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli publicly drolled over KTN reporter Sophia Wanuna.
“I watch you, and I am your fan” this was Francis Atwoli’s comment to presenter Sophia Wanuna.
The comment was just more that enough to have Kenyans speculating that Atwoli could be interested in the TV star.
Atwoli made the remarks when the petite beauty hosted him on KTN’s Check Point
“I listen to you, Sophia. I am your fan in particular; you as Sophia. Let me tell you: I listen to you carefully,” Atwoli told the KTN host.
As expected online users immediately began speculating that the wealthy trade unionist could be eying the media personality, given he recently married Wanuna’s colleague Mary Kilobi.
One Twitter user said
‘This guy Atwoli knows how to execute his pick-up lines. Sophia, count yourself in as his target.”
Another online user said
“Sophia, remember Atwoli told [Citizen TV’s] Jeff Koinange that he is a stupid lover…”
Samuel Maina advised Wanuna, saying: “Resist, Sophie, resist!”
In mid last year, it emerged that Atwoli had married KTN’s Mary Kilobi.
The COTU boss would, in August 2018, confirmed the rumours.
“She [Mary Kilobi] is my wife. She is my second wife, who is taking care of me,” Mr Atwoli told Jeff Koinange in an August interview.
