Matiang’i to be Ousted in the Next Cabinet Reshuffle?

The next cabinet reshuffle may see Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i replaced by East Africa Court of Justice judge Charles Nyachae, this is after important people in government who are against Matiang’i chose him as their preferred candidate.

Matiang’i has been on a fast upward climb as a super minister in the Uhuru Kenyatta cabinet and this has not been received well.

During Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent executive order that made useless the office of William Ruto, Matiang’i cabinet coordination office was also affected. In the executive order No 1 of 2020, the National Development Implementation and Communication Committee Matiang’i chairs, were removed from his ministry. The order reveals the planned creation of Oversight and Coordination in Delivery of National Priorities and Flagship programs.

The order is supposedly going to lead to the formation of the cabinet office to be headed by a powerful secretary.

Charles Nyachae

Matiang’i and Nyachae are relatives. In fact, Matiang’i’s appointment was due to the Nyachae family’s support for Uhuru’s second term re-election in 2017. Dr Miguna Miguna, a Canada based Kenyan, Pan-African revolutionary intellectual, Lawyer, Writer who claims to be fighting for justice using words, facts and truths has also in the past said that CS Fred Matiangi is an illegitimate son of Simeon Nyachae.

Sources say that the Matiang’i and Nyachae power struggle has placed the president in an awkward position with Uhuru in a dilemma in Gusiiland being that the region cannot have two cabinet secretaries at the same time with the Chief Justice David Maraga. If Nyachae is going to be named a CS, then Matiang’i has to be sacrificed.
