Award- winning journalist and comedian Francis Munyao alias MCA tricky was replaced from his Milele’s morning drive show he co-hosts alongside radio head Alex Mwakideu.
Reports indicate that the funnyman is affected by the recent changes at the staion moving him from the usual morning breakfast show to join Chris The Bass in the evening drive show.
Tricky was replaced in his role by actress Jacky Nyaminde who was moved from her usual evening drive show she co-hosted with Francis Luchivya.
Luchivya will now host the evening drive alone until a perfect much for him is found. Currently, he hosts a show that runs from 8pm to 12am- Monday to Friday.
The afternoon show that aired between 1pm to 4pm will now be hosted by Diana Tangut aka Presenter Dee 001, Captain Otoyo and Ankali Ray.
The duo of Otoyo and Dee used to host the evening drive previously while Ankali Ray was on Bangaiza reloaded.
According to latest media reports from Media Council of Kenya (MCK), Milele FM was the fourth most listened to radio station in Kenya, taking same position with Inooro FM and Kameme FM.
Radio Citizen led the pack with the highest number of listeners with a market share of 19% followed by Radio Jambo at 14% and Radio Maisha at 10%.
Further reports indicated that listenership had also dropped across the Country from 84% in 2019 to 74% in 2020, with more men than women captured to be listening to the radio.
Averagely, 45% of the participants revealed that they listened to the news more on radio than any other program, with 28% preferring music while 7% tuned in for politics.
MCA tricky was poached from radio Maisha to replace fellow comedian Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o who had left for Kiss 100 in June 2000.
