The Head of Public Service, Dr Joseph Kinyua is a quiet and honourable man and has managed to live his life without the veil of personal scandal or incident, carrying out his duties effectively without the need for cameras or public praise. He has often been described as frugal and incorruptible and his retirement has been delayed because of his unassailable character and admirable work ethic.
However, the escapades of a woman who claims to be his daughter “Dr” Elizabeth Wairimu Ndumia threaten his reputation as a man of integrity as she uses his name to obtain money under false pretences, using the judicial system to harass those that oppose her and to force both Parastatals, Sections of Government and also private organizations to singly award tenders and contracts to her company STRATOS CAPITAL & the Sister Company LLOYD CAPITAL. So why does she lie about her identity? In Kenya, it is not enough to know somebody you also have to be somebody. So despite the fact that her parents are known in her hometown to be Douglas Nderitu and Virginia Nyarita, she uses Dr. Kinyua’s name to give herself a more recognized identity to lure her victims.
This story reveals a web of lies carefully spun by a woman willing to go to any lengths to get what she wants. The most disarming thing about her is; at 5ft5’’, she introduces herself as a US Trained Medical Doctor. Doctors are held in very high regard throughout the world. However, a careful search of US records reveals she was only trained as a Nursing Homemaker HHA, License number 26NH0592000, and there is no record of her having graduated from any medical school within the US as a Medical Doctor or even as a PhD as she is sometimes tempted to lie to those who ask who may work in the medical field.
Using her fake credentials and the unassailable Good name of Dr Joseph Kinyua has helped her pull the wool over the eyes of many Kenyans.
On 6th September 2017, Elizabeth Wairimu Ndumia with others being Directors of STRATOS CAPITAL, with intent to defraud HMB INVESTMENT LIMITED COMPANY obtained USD $117,000 (KES 12,700,350 Twelve Million Seven Hundred Thousand, three hundred and fifty) by falsely claiming that Elizabeth Wairimu Ndumia owned a Gold Mine in Tanzania and was able to supply 10KGs of Gold. The matter was reported under OB Number 29/31/01/2020 after Elizabeth failed to refund the money she had obtained.
Whilst at the Police Station Elizabeth caused quite a great scene and called various high-level officials in government to help her, but they all declined to get involved in the matter. The criminal matter, case number 228/2020 is filed at Ngong Law Courts and will be coming up for mention on 14th October 2020. (Send Court Reporter to get more details) The case has been delayed and justice denied to HMB INVESTMENTS because Elizabeth lied that she was gravely ill, all the while she has been conducting her businesses at Block A, Keystone Park, 3rd floor, where several witnesses have seen her come and leave and even conduct meetings without any sign of illness.
Another matter is gathering dust in the Auctioneers Tribunal Board, a subsection of the Judiciary where Elizabeth is trying to obtain a revocation of the license belonging to TRADEWIND AUCTIONEERS who on January 2019, on behalf of her landlord Halifax agencies, and acting within the confines of the law, evicted her from the house Number C3, ACME flats at Riverside within Kileleshwa Estate and possessed and auctioned her household items as well as her car, to try and recover her rent arrears and auctioneer costs amounting to over KES 3 Million. In the Civil suit that Elizabeth filed in the high court, case number 142/2019, her landlord describes her as a serial rent defaulter who abuses the court process to continue breaking the law and occupy rental houses without paying her rent. The High court dismissed the case and she then proceeded to file a different suit at the Auctioneers Tribunal Board to try and get back at the Auctioneers. Despite Elizabeth’s tainted past, she continues to enjoy the perks of having her victims believe she is the pawn of a powerful Kenyan figure. For instance, in a case of clear flouting of procurement procedures, she has been in negotiations with Top Level officials at Public Debt Management Office to award her company STRATOS CAPITAL & Sister Company LLOYD CAPITAL the contract to restructure Kenya’s Sovereign Debt, a deal running into Billions of Dollars. LLOYD Capital was registered in FEBRUARY 2020 when it emerged that STRATOS CAPITAL was named in the Gold scam scandal and therefore they would no longer be able to conduct business under the name.
Elizabeth has also used her fake “Dr” title and her fake familial relationship with Dr. Kinyua to get STRATOS CAPITAL & now LLOYD Capital single-sourced to restructure debt and raised funds for Kenya Power (KPLC), a deal organized with top-level officials at the parastatal. Some local banks have also fallen prey to her well-organized syndicate. All this is without any training or experience in the area of finance. So clever is her Modus Operandi that all her victims are none the wiser to her carefully curated fake identity.
As to whether Elizabeth Wairimu Ndumia, as well as her partners, will be brought to book for the crimes they have committed remains a matter to be seen. It is quite unfortunate that all the victims have not been able to receive justice on all these matters. The law must be protected and upheld no matter who is breaking it. What remains clear though, is that until Elizabeth Wairimu Ndumia and her accomplices are held accountable for their actions, charged, tried and jailed they will continue to fleece innocent Kenyans, cause untold mayhem within Government Agencies and in the corporate world and continue to place Dr. Joseph Kinyua’s reputation at stake.
