After weeks of constant verbal attacks from members of Deputy President William Ruto’s “Tangatanga” faction, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has finally responded to questions surrounding his active participation in politics despite being a government officer.
In a fiery retaliation on Friday, 12 November 2021, Kibicho told off his detractors and asked them to “swallow razor blades or hang themselves” if the pain of watching him exercise his freedoms as a Kenyan becomes too much to bear.
According to the senior State official who works under the close stewardship of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i, he has every right, just like every other citizen, to engage in political matters that affect him as a Kenyan.
Kibicho further noted that no amount of bitterness from the opposing camp will push him to stop discussing the 2022 polls.
“CS Matiang’i and I are Kenyans, we are stakeholders here and we are going nowhere! If you are going to eat razor blades because we are talking politics go buy them now! If you are pained by our motives, there are trees we will get you a rope..go hang yourself,” Kibicho dared.
The Interior PS has been at loggerheads with William Ruto allies over his active participation in political matters.
Ruto’s supporters claimed that Karanja Kibicho and his boss CS Fred Matiangi have plans to interfere with next year’s General Election in favour of Raila Odinga.
This is notably not the first time the PS has shown Ruto allies his determination to be involved in active politics.
On November 1, the PS suggested Physical punishment for anyone who is against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This sparked outrage from Ruto allies, who accused the Interior PS of being arrogant and feeling so powerful.
