Canada-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has told off Azimio leader Raila Odinga over his hiring ethical hackers claim, to expose former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.

In a statement, Miguna said there exists nothing like ethical hacking and that the former Prime Minister committed a crime.

He insisted that Raila could have attempted to change the election results, so that he could declare himself the winner of the August 9, 2022, presidential poll.

“There is no legal hacking. The conman committed an actionable crime. He was probably attempting to alter the results to declare himself the winner,” Miguna said.

His remarks were in response to Raila’s declaration on Tuesday that he worked with ‘ethical hackers’ to get the details of his alleged stolen victory.

Raila said he delayed commenting on the outcome of the polls as he awaited the whistler blower’s exposé.

The ODM leader said he was forced to enlist the technical assistance of foreign hacking experts to unearth facts about the presidential tallies by the IEBC.

“I did not want to talk about the results and elections, I could have been seen to be lamenting a lot. I had to look for ethical hackers to know the truth.”

He has claimed that Chebukati announced different figures than the ones that had been captured in the servers.

Raila also revealed that the State tried to thwart the work of his hackers when they arrived in the country with their sophisticated machines as they were trailed for over a month.

“We got them from abroad and they came with their machines. They had to go as far as Athi River, some in Kajiado and even Kiambu because they were being tracked for about a month,” he said.

Chebukati had rubbished the claims saying the poll outcome was validated by the Supreme Court.
