The amount in words and figures don’t match.
Social media users were divided on the issue with some congratulating Sonko while others wondering if he was intoxicated while writing the cheque

The back story
In April this year, the plight of Esther Wambui, the cancer patient, was highlighted in a video clip that went viral after she and her sister were turned away by KNH for failing to pay a bill of Kshs. 1950.
Esther died late July 2019 and left a bill of Kshs. 300,000. Her sister asked well wishers to help her clear the bill and the Nairobi Governor chipped in.
Kenyan Bulletin hopes that Mike Sonko corrected the mistake on the cheque.
