On Sunday, Kenyatta National Hospital filed a missing staff report with the authorities after Grace Andeyo, an accountant at National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) went missing in the afternoon.
The Police have informed this site that Ms Grace Andeyo has, this morning, been found unconscious in Nairobi’s Imara Daima Estate. She has since been taken to hospital for medical check-ups.
On Friday at around 1 pm, Ms Andeyo, 51, left her office at KNH presumably for lunch. She, however, left her bag and mobile phones in the office.
It was not established where she had gone as her car, a Volkswagen Polo registration number KBU 167J, was still at the KNH parking yard on Monday.
“She left the office at 2 pm and left a bag with the guard saying she would be back shortly. She never returned,” a police report indicated.
On Sunday, the accountant’s nephew, Douglas Vishia, went and reported the matter at Capitol Hill police station. Hours after a similar report had been filed by her colleagues.
On Wednesday, a family member informed the authorities that Andeyo, who is an employee of the National Hospital Insurance Fund, had been dropped off at her house by a taxi.
Police said they rushed to the house in Kings Millennium Apartments situated in Imara Daima, Embakasi.
“On arrival at the said place, we figured out that the missing person had indeed been dropped by the said taxi, with vehicle registration no. KCS 483X. The person in question was unconscious in a manner that would suggest she had been intoxicated,” said police in their report.
The family, police said, had already called in an ambulance which arrived and took the woman to Coptic Hospital.
According to the taxi driver, Gilbert Mokaya, the woman approached him while he was at the taxi stage in Imara Daima and asked to be dropped home.
“She was holding a piece of paper bearing her home address and Sh200 note. We gathered the evidence that was in that scene of crime and escorted the taxi driver involved for interrogation,” said the police.
The accountant had worked in Thika for long before she was transferred to Industrial Area. Late last year, Ms Andeyo was again transferred to the KNH branch.
This site had conducted the Capitol Hill police station OCS who declined to comment on the issue citing that it is still a case under investigations.
