Mombasa Principal Magistrate Elvis Michieka Kicks the Bucket

The Legal fraternity is mourning the demise of Elvis Michieka who untill his death Mombasa Principal magistrate.

Kenya Judges and Magistrates Association (KJMA) has confirmed the passing on of the Mombasa principal magistrate now late Elvis Michieka.

The association’s secretary general Derrick Kuto said Michieka died at The Karen Hospital where he had been admitted until the morning of Wednesday, December 2.

The body of the deceased was taken to Montezuma Funeral Home.

It is not clear whether Magistrate Elvis Michieka succumbed to COVID-19.

In his message, Chief Justice David Maraga said Michieka was admitted to the hospital about two weeks ago for undisclosed ailment.

Maraga described him as a devoted judicial officer who rendered his services with exceptional diligence.

“On behalf of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission and on my own behalf, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the entire legal fraternity for the shocking loss,” he stated.

His colleague and Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo was among judiciary officials who mourned the late Michieka as a diligent colleague

“I’m saddened by the the loss of my brother and colleague, Hon Elvis Michieka who was stationed at Mombasa Law Courts, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to his family and friends,” she mourned.

In early November, Michieka was among magistrates who were interviewed for promotions and had been awaiting his results
