A gang of monkeys in New Delhi India launched an assault on an Indian health worker near Meerut Medical College and made off with coronavirus test blood samples, raising concerns of spreading the virus massively.
The primates have been an issue in the area, often snatching foodstuffs and mobile phones.
After stealing the three test samples, one of the primates was reportedly later spotted up in a tree, chewing one of the sample collection kits the Times of India reported – adding that test samples from the patients had to be taken again.
Lockdown measures in many countries have emboldened animals who now roam the urban streets. Animals in urban areas are exploring emptied streets and waterways.
