Gatundu South Member of parliament today early morning took to the social media with a special plea to the authorities concerned to enable Juja Constituency by-elections proceed smoothly as earlier planned.

In his wee hours post, the vocal Tanga Tanga allied legislator complained that there was a blackout in the region affecting most of the polling stations thereby threatening the days operations.

He went on to appeal for help from the principal Secretary department of Energy Dr. Engineer Joseph K Njoroge to move in with speed and arrest the situation.

“Power Blackout in most polling centres in Juja. PS Eng Joseph Njoroge kindly assist.” Kuria wrote.

The lawmaker has been an ardent supporter of George Koimburi in the race to replace Francis Munyua Waititu alias Wakapee as the next Juja lawmaker.

Koimburi is the People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) candidate in the race, and the last general election’s runner up.

Koimburi is battling it out with among others Susan Munyua the widow of Waititu in the race, with Kuria being on constant record claiming that the government are hell bent on rigging the elections in favour of a particular candidate.

This comes just shortly after the police recently barred the two leaders and other residents from attending the launch of the toilets Koimburi recently built in Weitethie.

“For so many years, men women and children at Witeithie Market have been using open air toilets in land belonging to some very wealthy families. That is why Hon George Koimburi and myself decided to construct a modern block of toilets for them, replete with even several bathrooms. The government has failed to provide even a basic toilet for them. When we tried to launch the block of toilets today, police sought for reinforcements from as far as Mwingi to stop two people. You may have stopped us but verily, verily I say unto you Pharaoh, my people of Witeithie will from today use a toilet as clean as that used by your wife because they are also human beings” Kuria wrote at the time
