Mumma to replace Pareno at ODM elections board

Orange Democratic Movement has named Catherine Mumma the National Elections Board chairperson for a five-year term. Mumma is taking over from nominated senator Judith Pareno, meaning she the 2022 elections.

Other members of ODM‘s National Elections Board include;  Abdulahi Diriye,  Richard Tairo, Syntei Nchoe and Emily Awita.

The board’s key role is setting up county elections panels/supervisors to identify candidates of high integrity in strict adherence to election rules.

Ben Sihanya was also appointed to head the Disciplinary Committee where Ramadhani M. Abubakar, Mumbi Ngaru, Seth Kakusye and Florence Omosa sits.

The new members of both Committees shall hold office for a five year term.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said the new Disciplinary Committee is expected to settle in the office quickly and dispense pending disciplinary cases involving party’s MCAs from Nairobi, Bungoma and Nyamira Counties urgently.

“It is our expectation that the new members will begin work immediately as they will find their in trays full. The new NEB must quickly settle and begin preparations for the Party Grassroots Elections.”

Sifuna also said that the new changes emanated from wide consultation with the party membership as he called on ODM followers to support the new team for growth of the party.

Sifuna also thanked and congratulated the outgoing office bearers for their commitment and dedication to the party.
