The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is demanding Sh100 million in tax arrears from the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
The taxman is said to be very relentless such as to warrant the Western Kenya leader to reconsider his presidential bid.
According to sources, Mudavadi is in talks with Deputy President William Ruto to help him pay the tax arrears; a thing that has exposed him to calls to step down in favour of Ruto.
This is also seen in the light of his attacks on rival ODM camp led by formidable Raila Odinga.
‘Mualia wants to decamp to form a coalition with Ruto. KRA issue is one of those that makes him want to,’ revealed a source.
Just like in the past
Musalia owns a couple of firms in Kenya, most notable, East African airways which had a hanger in almost all the airports in Kenya.
His airline was chased out of their JKIA hanger after they failed to pay.
It seems the mama’s boy is still a toddler with a KANU hangover where he is used to taking but not giving back.
