Mystery deaths in Bomet point at a possible cult or tribal targeting

Three men have been found killed in  Bomet with some of their body parts missing. Boda boda operators who surrounded the area where the bodies were found suspect a possible cult or blood drinking ritual. Police, the public and religious leaders were buffled with the grisly murders.

Bomet Central sub-county police commander Musa Omari called the incident “odd”, he laso added that the   killings could boil down to a cult. He could however not draw conclusions until investigations are completed and suspects brought to book.

The naked body of a middle-aged mechanic identified as Stephen Okoth was found with his left eye gouged out and the left ear was chopped off. The  deep gash in his left thigh suggested that the bloodthirsty  killers wanted to drink from a major severed artery, some members of the public speculated.

His body was dumped outside his house with his close friends and relatives saying that Okoth who did not show up at his work place on Thursday had not expressed fears for his life. It’s however strange that only members of the Luo community were targeted in the brutal deaths.

Investigating officers remained puzzled by the deaths because the victims did not appear hit and no marks to show that they had been hit by blunt objects. The incident followed similar ones where two middle aged men were killed on their way home, just few kilometres from Bomet town
