Nakuru Man On The Run After Confessing To Killing Wife

Police are looking for a Nakuru based businessman who killed his wife in Racecourse estate and took away.

The man identified as Amos Njuguna is reported to have confessed to his son after stabbing his 41-year-old wife, Winnie Chepkurui, to death in an incident that left their neighbours shocked.

“After killing the mother, he called their son to inform him about the incident” a neighbour revealed.

Police found the body lying in a pool of blood in their rented house.

Nakuru East Sub-County Police Commander Martin Masika said the woman’s body was wrapped in a bed sheet and had seven stab wounds in the face, chest and stomach.

Mr. Masika said they are treating the husband as the prime suspect because of his suspicious behaviour immediately after the incident. The suspect is said to have faked a robbery and lied about his wife’s whereabouts.

Njuguna told one Monicah Nyambura, a family friend who he visited her home at 1pm on Tuesday and left her with his mobile phones, car and house keys and informed her that he and his wife had been attacked by thugs while on their way home from Mau Narok.

When Ms Nyambura asked him about his wife, Mr Njuguna lied that she was at the police station reporting the incident.

The police boss observed that the crime scene was disturbed with household items spread all over the room.

Njuguna and his wife were blessed with three children and has been living peacefully but on that fateful day, he allegedly called their son, a university student, and confessed to the murder.

A concerned neighbour said he went to the house to check on the woman after her son informed him that his father had confessed to killing her.

“After speaking to the son and confirmed the shocking murder. The police had also arrived after being alerted by residents,” he said.
