National Youth Council Elections will be conducted before end of August this year.

This is after ICT cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru gazetted the youth advisory board.

According to National Youth Council Chief Executive Officer Roy Sasaka Telewa, the move is a clear indication that the elections will be held within the next three months.

“We have seen our CS saying he gazetted the NYC advisory board, so am asking youths to come out and participate in these elections. They will shape their future,” Telewa said.

Meanwhile the council has received 34,000 N95 face masks from Sigma Pharmaceutical to help fight Covid-19.

Roy says that the masks will be distributed to youths and they target areas with high number of Covid-19 cases.

“We have youth groups and association that are subscribed to NYC and we will use them to distribute these masks,” he added.
