Newly-sworn in Kiambu Governor James Nyoro has hit back at critics after his opulent arrival at Kitui BBI rally aboard a chopper.
Nyoro, who was barely a day old in office, graced the rally in Kitui just hours after his crowning as the third Kiambu Governor after former Governor Ferdinand Waititu was impeached.
Responding to the critics, Nyoro said he was focused on delivering on his mandate to the people of Kiambu County and that he would not succumb to Social media pressure.
He reiterated his commitment to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, warning leaders against insulting the President.
He would also be accused of having heckled Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria in the heat of a confrontation that saw him temporarily ejected before being allowed back on the dais.
His critics would blame the former Governor for hitting the political ground running instead of delivering to Kiambu residents who have been lacking a Governor since Waititu was barred from office.
