Nick Okoth defeated Ukraine’s Sergei Kitchko through unanimous points decision during their feather weight bout of the ongoing Konstantin Korotkov Memorial boxing tournament in Moscow Russia.
Okoth won after all the five judges awarded him a 5-0 win in the three round fight. Following the win Okoth will now face Russian Ovik Oganisyan in the semi final tomorrow.
‘’I have been training for this game, it is also a good build up for the Olympic games. my opponent was tough, I followed coach’s game plan during the game which was key in the victory’’, Okoth said after the win.
‘’Nick followed the instructions because we had studied his opponent during his training and realized that he uses a lot of power during the sparring so we wanted Nick to go in and find his range and stick the jab, right combinations and all that…..He followed the game plan and notched the win’’, Head Coach Benjamin Musa said.
