Newly elected Member of Parliament for Lang’ata constituency, Phelix Odiwour, alias Jalang’o, has declared that he is set to quit doing club events following his assumption of office.

Jalang’o was declared the winner of the hotly contested race after garnering 38,948 votes, beating the incumbent MP Nixon Korir, who polled 36,836 votes.

In his latest social media update, Jalang’o made it clear that his new job has forced him to cancel his previous duties as an entertainer.

The former radio presenter noted that moving forward, he will no longer be engaging in such activities, due to the unavailability of time.

“My new job comes with a lot of responsibilities and times of clubs might not be there anymore,” Jalang’o wrote.

However, Jalang’o did not rule out working on the radio, noting that with a morning show that ends at 9 am he would be able to deliver his parliamentary duties.

“For now, Langata is my No. 1 priority! Delivery of our manifesto and the promises we made to the electorate.

“Radio is my love and if I get a morning show that ends by 9 so that I can make it for bunge on time then why not? I know many MPs who still do their jobs and deliver for their constituency,” reads part of his post.
