Parliamenterians allied to Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) are set to meet on Wednesday to take position on the alleged ploy to impeach the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto.
Lugari Mp/ANC deputy party Ayub Savula, who is also the chairman of the ANC Parliamentary Group (PG), confirmed that the meeting will be held at the Panafric Hotel in Nairobi.
“The ANC PG is meant to ensure that the process of impeaching the Deputy President, which includes collection of signatures to support the grounds for removal, is done smoothly,” Savula said.
He also noted that the plan to impeach DP was triggered by a scheme to impeach the President when a section of Jubilee legislators (Tanga Tanga) allied to Ruto met in Naivasha last week.
The Naivasha meeting was led by the Leader of the Majority and Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
The motion to impeach DP Ruto is being pushed by politicians allied to President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga who has accused the DP of being disrespectful to the President.
ANC leader has also said that Ruto is tainted and should not be allowed to ascend to the country’s top leadership. Mudavadi forgot that is he is tainted too, he was mentioned in the Goldengerg scandal.
